The Word of God,
The Redeemer of flesh,
The Suffering Servant.
Immanuel,
God with us.
What kind of God are you that you would be spit on, beaten, and hung up to die by your own creation?
What kind of God are you that is perfectly holy, unfathomably pure, without one wicked thought… and yet suffered for all my shortcomings?
What kind of God are you that could love broken, messy, seemingly unfixable people with an all-consuming, extraordinary passion?
You are abundantly compassionate, unthinkably adoring.
You are a safe haven; a peaceful, trustworthy keeper of my heart.
You are captivating; inexplicably beautiful, a pristine reflection of the Father wrapped in flesh.
Jesus Christ, Immanuel:
With us in our suffering
With us in our betrayal
With us in our weeping
With us in our failure
With us in our loneliness
With us right now.
Thank you for dying for me Jesus.
Thank you Father for seeing me as innocent through the lens of your blameless, Holy Son.
Thank you Holy Spirit for leading me to the path of truth, and for pointing me back to my saviour again and again.
I will spend eternity at your feet, basking in all that you are and all that you’ve done for me.
Thank you for the cross, today and everyday.
